At the Feet of The Mother

Opening Remarks for the Canto Three

Savitri now embarks upon a long and tremendous journey in search of the secret of fate and the way to conquer death and destiny. She has received the command to embark upon this journey, not for herself but for man. She is born to open the doors for man so that man, human following in the trails of her steps discover deathless life in the Divine. She has come to set a divine example for mankind.

At first she force opens the gate that parts our material world from the great immaterial planes, the subtle worlds so to say. Thence she swam through the strong currents of life where life swells into a mighty flood and a force that can carry man upstream in a tremendous surge or else downwards towards the precipice. Going further she enters the spaces of the mind where systems of thoughts attract and trap the soul into fixed beliefs. There she is offered to stay and end her quest with mental certitudes. But Savitri seeks to go further and deeper. Closer to her soul she sees godlike forms and benevolent energies emerge going outward to help mankind. But instead of rushing out like them she seeks her soul first. Thence one among them points out to her the long narrow path towards the secret cavern of her soul.

To be spontaneous means not to think, organise, decide and make an effort to realise with the personal will.
