Three Ways of Looking at Life (TH 019)

Generally there are three ways to look at life. First one is looking at the surface from the surface. The second one just goes a little behind and sees the motives behind the happenings. But the third one is to see life through a conscious inner eye. A sadhak needs to develop this inner vision and deeper seeing which is not dependent on surface happenings but goes to the heart of the matter. He should be able to see the inner forces at work behind the veil of appearances and above all, the divine intention behind the play. With this new vision a sadhak can dwell anywhere without being shaken by outer happenings. The speaker brings home this fact through examples from Sri Aurobindo’s prison life among others.

Recorded in 2009.
