By yoga people think of meditation, asana, pranayama, asceticism, morality, worship etc. But yoga is much more comprehensive, deep and all-inclusive. Yoga in India has always striven to understand the deeper meaning of life, the creation and the creator. When we see the spiritual personalities like Sri Krishna or Shiva, the meaning and purpose of yoga is widened and becomes inclusive of life. Yoga is given to Arjuna in the battlefield of Kurukshtra and Arjuna was asked to fight as a yogi. Yoga is a mighty path, it is not for weaklings. To run away from life because it is difficult or painful should not be the reason to do yoga. To get power, to be famous or to serve the humanity etc are not enough reason to do yoga. The yoga is done for the divine. Yoga should be done because we cannot do otherwise. We cannot be satisfied with an ordinary life as life demands some greater satisfaction that is to realize and manifest the Divine.
